چکیده

ProbLog is a recently introduced probabilistic extension of Prolog. The key contribution of this paper is that we extend ProbLog with abilities to specify continuous distributions and that we show how ProbLog’s exact inference mechanism can be extended to cope with such distributions. The resulting inference engine combines an interval calculus with a dynamic discretization algorithm into an effective solver.

On Continuous Distributions and Parameter Estima- tion in Probabilistic Logic Programs

In the last decade remarkable progress has been made on combining statistical machine learning techniques, reasoning under uncertainty, and relational representations. The branch of Artificial Intelligence working on the synthesis of these three areas is known as statistical relational learning or probabilistic logic learning. ProbLog, one of the probabilistic frameworks developed, is an extens...

Projective maximal submodules of extending regular modules

We show  that a projective maximal submodule of afinitely generated, regular, extending module is a directsummand. Hence, every finitely generated, regular, extendingmodule with projective maximal submodules is semisimple. As aconsequence, we observe that every regular, hereditary, extendingmodule is semisimple. This generalizes and simplifies a result of  Dung and   Smith. As another consequen...

Combining Stochastic Constraint Optimization and Probabilistic Programming - From Knowledge Compilation to Constraint Solving

We show that a number of problems in Artificial Intelligence can be seen as Stochastic Constraint Optimization Problems (SCOPs): problems that have both a stochastic and a constraint optimization component. We argue that these problems can be modeled in a new language, SC-ProbLog, that combines a generic Probabilistic Logic Programming (PLP) language, ProbLog, with stochastic constraint optimiz...

Inference in probabilistic logic programs with continuous random variables

Probabilistic Logic Programming (PLP), exemplified by Sato and Kameya’s PRISM, Poole’s ICL, Raedt et al’s ProbLog and Vennekens et al’s LPAD, is aimed at combining statistical and logical knowledge representation and inference. However, the inference techniques used in these works rely on enumerating sets of explanations for a query answer. Consequently, these languages permit very limited use ...

Providing of some family of continuous distributions to fit the best distribution on drought data of Guilan state and investigation of duration of the drought on this stat

In this paper, after stating the characteristicof some of continuous distributions including, gamma, Crovelli’s gamma, Rayleigh, Weibull, Pareto, exponential and generalized gamma distribution with each other, these distributions were fit on drought data of Guilan state and the best distribution was presented. Then, severity and duration of the drought of different sites were investigated usi...
